Five totally random movies I watched on DVD recently
“I play a planet. I menace somebody called Something-or-other. Then I’m destroyed.” — Orson Welles, on his role as Unicron in Transformers: The Movie.
Welles’ first feature film was the incomparable Citizen Kane, which was nominated for nine Academy Awards (but won just one). It is generally considered the greatest film ever made.
Welles’ final feature film work appeared in Transformers: The Movie, which was released 45 years after his masterpiece. Welles did some voiceover, told somebody that he was “playing a toy” in a movie about toys who “do horrible things to each other,” and then passed away five days later.
Top five most anticipated movies of the summer
“I’m coming for blood, no code of conduct, no law.” — Wolverine, from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Tonight is going to be magical.
Tonight, Greatest Pro Bowls of all time, and other stuff is going to see the first big blockbuster of this very promising summer movie season.
That would be X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a feel-good superhero story about a man with metal blades that come out of his hands. Should be a great popcorn flick.
It is one of Greatest Pro Bowls of all time, and other stuff‘s Top Five Most Anticipated Movies of the Summer SeasonTM.
